Tori Hollerbach is an emerging flutist from Houston, Texas, living in the Central NY area. She is a recent graduate of Ithaca College, earning a degree in Flute Performance with Summa Cum Laude honors. Her teachers include Allison Parramore, Wendy Mehne, and Amanda Galick. Tori is a versatile musician, enjoying playing in a variety of settings and styles, from small contemporary chamber ensembles to standard orchestral repertoire. In addition to her performance schedule, Tori enjoys her work in both education and arts administration.
As an avid piccolo player, Tori has been the primary piccolo player of Ithaca College’s top ensembles for the past three years, and has played a variety of different chamber and solo works on piccolo, such as Steve Reich’s Drumming. Tori can also be heard on the Ithaca College Chamber Wind’s recording of Dana Wilson’s concerto for amplified bassoon and chamber winds, a group of instrumentalists led by Dr. Daniel Cook and Dr. Christin Schillinger. Additionally, Tori has been a part of professional projects such as a lecture recital at the New Jersey Music Educator’s Association, Cheat Codes for an Effective Ensemble Experience.
Recently, Tori has performed as a contracted substitute with the Cornell Chamber Orchestra, playing principal flute on works by Stravinsky and Schubert. She was a finalist in the Ithaca College Concerto Competition playing the third movement of Liebermann's Concerto for Flute and Orchestra, no. 1. She has attended summer festivals such as the Breno Italy International Music Academy, the Brevard Music Center Flute Institute, and the Lawrence Chamber Music Festival, and Orford Musique, where she has been fortunate to work with flautists such as Amy Porter, Molly Barth, Lara Deutsch, Leo Sussman, and Maria Fernanda Castillo. In addition to this, has performed in masterclasses with Christina Jennings, Molly Barth, Carol Wincenc, Tara Helen O'Connor, Linda Chesis, Benoit Fromanger, Sooyun Kim, Kelly Zimba Lukic, Johnathan Keeble, and Alexa Still.
Tori is a founding member of the MTN Trio, a trio for two flutes and marimba dedicated to commissioning living composers. Most recently, the trio commissioned and performed works by two Ithaca College alumni, Corey Stark and Josh Oxford, premiering the works alongside other IC composers on their recital.
Education has been at the root of Tori's passion since she was first developing her love for the flute. She has experience with beginner to collegiate flute lessons, developing her pedagogy with the guidance of Music Education faculty at Ithaca College and her research on the pedagogy of the Paris Conservatory and Marcel Moyse. Tori was selected as a lecturer at the Ithaca College Whalen Symposium for her presentation "Coloring Outside the Lines: Expanding the Expressive Toolbox of the Solo Musician," where she discussed the founding of the Paris Conservatory and the development of its pedagogical style, and application of Marcel Moyse's Tone Development Through Interpretation to standard flute literature coming from the Paris Conservatory. She has also presented workshops introducing contemporary techniques to middle and high school flautists at the Music for All festival hosted at Ithaca College. Starting in the fall of 2026, Tori will begin her internship with the Cayuga Chamber Orchestra (CCO), where she will assist in organization, concert production and ticketing, event planning, marketing, and social media, in addition to some work with the CCO Youth Orchestra.
In her free time, Tori loves to read, spend time with friends and family, and scrapbook.
